  • Role Overview:

    We are looking for a skilled Architectural Technologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate should have experience in technical detailing, construction documentation, and coordination of architectural projects. This role is hybrid, requiring at least one day in the office per week, with flexibility for remote work.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Prepare and develop technical drawings, construction documentation, and specifications.

    • Work closely with architects and interior designers to execute design concepts into buildable solutions.

    • Ensure compliance with local building regulations, codes, and industry best practices.

    • Coordinate with consultants, engineers, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.

    • Conduct site visits and inspections to ensure project quality and progress.

    • Utilize Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to produce high-quality technical drawings.

    • Assist in material selection and detailing for high-end residential and commercial projects.

     

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma in Architectural Technology.

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in an architectural firm.

    • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (essential) and AutoCAD.

    • Experience in preparing municipal submission drawings and technical detailing.

    • Strong understanding of South African building codes and regulations.

    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.

    • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively within a team.

     

    Additional Advantageous Skills:

    • Experience with 3D visualization software (e.g., Enscape, Lumion, Twinmotion).

    • Familiarity with BIM workflows and coordination.

    • Experience working on high-end residential or commercial projects.

  • TBAD is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Experienced Interior Designer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong design vision, technical expertise, and the ability to manage interior design projects from concept to completion. This role requires a creative problem-solver who can seamlessly balance design aesthetics, functionality, and project execution while collaborating with clients, contractors, and suppliers.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    Concept Development & Design Execution

    • Lead the creative direction for interior design projects, developing innovative and functional concepts.

    • Create and refine detailed interior layouts, mood boards, and material selections that align with client needs and project goals.

    • Ensure that all designs meet brand, client, and industry standards while pushing creative boundaries.

     

    Technical Documentation & Detailing

    • Develop comprehensive technical drawings, joinery details, and construction documentation.

    • Prepare layouts, elevations, sections, and full working drawings for ceilings, floors, walls, plumbing, electrical, and custom furniture.

    • Ensure accuracy in shop drawings and coordinate with contractors to maintain design intent.

     

    Materials & Specifications

    • Select and specify Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E) tailored to project requirements.

    • Source materials and finishes that enhance the overall design vision while ensuring sustainability, durability, and cost-effectiveness.

     

    Client & Stakeholder Coordination

    • Manage client relationships, translating their vision into high-quality design solutions.

    • Lead client presentations, articulating design concepts, material choices, and project timelines effectively.

    • Liaise with contractors, architects, engineers, and suppliers to ensure seamless execution of design projects.

     

    Project Management & Execution

    • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful completion.

    • Manage on-site coordination, quality control, and problem-solving during installation phases.

    • Conduct site visits and provide technical guidance to ensure accurate implementation of designs.

     

    Financial & Procurement Oversight

    • Prepare and manage quotations, budgets, and cost estimates for interior projects.

    • Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure the best pricing and quality for materials and furnishings.

     

    Design Presentation & Visualization

    • Develop high-quality design presentations and reports to communicate concepts effectively.

    • Produce realistic 3D renders and visualizations to showcase design intent.

     

    Industry Awareness & Continuous Learning

    • Stay informed about emerging trends, materials, and innovations in the interior design industry.

    • Continuously refine design processes to enhance efficiency and creativity within the firm.

     

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.

    • 2+ years of experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.

    • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit and other relevant design and rendering tools.

    • Strong technical drawing, detailing, and documentation skills.

    • Excellent project management abilities, with experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.

    • Financial acumen in handling budgets, quotations, and invoices.

    • Ability to lead and mentor junior designers while working collaboratively within a team.

    • Strong communication and negotiation skills to manage clients, contractors, and vendors effectively.

    • Ability to work autonomously and proactively while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

  • Location: Johannesburg | Salary: R6,000 – R8,000 + mileage + company phone

    Are you an organized, proactive individual who loves dogs and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly?
    We’re looking for a reliable Receptionist & Executive Personal Support to join our team at TBAD, a high-end design and architecture firm. This role focuses strictly on reception and executive household support—no general office management or project admin duties.

    What You’ll Do
        •    Open and close the office daily (secure doors/windows).
        •    Welcome guests and handle calls professionally.
        •    Manage the Executive’s basic diary and take minutes in all meetings.
        •    Ensure boardroom readiness and refreshments for meetings.
        •    Oversee the wellbeing of the office dogs and coordinate with the gardener for their daily walks.
        •    Supervise the cleaner and gardener, ensuring tasks are completed.
        •    Manage small inventories and purchase supplies (store or online).
        •    Basic IT support (printer, emails, Office suite).

    What You’ll Need
        •    Previous experience in reception/front desk roles.
        •    Comfortable and confident caring for dogs (a MUST).
        •    Excellent organizational and communication skills.
        •    Ability to multitask and work independently.
        •    Basic IT skills.
        •    Valid driver’s license and own transport (mileage reimbursed).
