The brief called for a complete transformation of an existing structure into a sophisticated, modern sanctuary that prioritizes both privacy and expansive open-plan living. By stripping the original form back to its core, we were able to reimagine the spatial flow, creating a residence that feels intuitively connected to its lush surroundings while maintaining a bold, geometric presence.
The architectural language of Umbria is defined by its striking interplay of light and shadow, achieved through the strategic use of horizontal louvers and cantilevered forms. The exterior palette of deep charcoal and warm earth tones provides a grounded, timeless aesthetic that allows the vibrant greenery of the site to pop. Large-scale glazing and stacking glass doors were implemented throughout the ground floor, effectively dissolving the boundary between the internal living spaces and the meticulously landscaped pool terrace.

This space is sheltered by a dramatic slatted pergola, providing filtered sunlight that dances across the pool deck throughout the day. The transition from the main house to this entertainment hub is effortless, facilitated by the elimination of traditional thresholds, ensuring the home feels like a continuous, breathable volume.
Technically, the delivery of Umbria required precise project management to integrate complex structural modifications with high-specification technical requirements.
